Habits are like atoms — the building blocks of our lives. We become our habits and with more effective habits, we can do almost anything. Habits work in loops — cue > craving > response > reward — to help us solve our problems. Cues begin our habit loops and we must design our environment(s ) to make cues obvious. Habit stacking — if this habit, then that habit — can help us compound our habits. Temptation bundling helps us pair what we want (reward) with what we must do (response). And because habits are automatic, they push us beyond the boredom of the consistency we need to achieve. Habits free us to live happy, productive lives.
